Synopsis[edit]
- "Homer and Marge recount the story of their transition from loving their life without kids to being miserable parents."
Plot[edit]
In Capital City, after enjoying a superhero movie, and, on Bart and Lisa's insistent request, staying until after the credits for the middle and post-credit sequences, the Simpson family leave to go back home when they come across the old district they used to live in. They decide to visit their old apartment, must to the kids annoyance.
They meet the new owners of the house, Miles and his wife, who gives Marge the mail that still got delivered to their apartment, where Marge discovers that pacifiers are choking hazards. After having her pacifier removed, Maggie starts picking items from the plug in the wall to substitute it. When she grabs a rat, Marge gives her back the perfume dispenser.
They told the story of the time before they had kids, telling how Marge was a journalist for the Springfield Shopper, while Homer worked at a new company, Flashmouth, they went partying, watching movies, watch the starry sky on top of a car. Homer was popular with his boss, Ross, at his job. Then Bart come and it all changed.
Homer and Marge no longer had as much time to themselves. Homer lost his job because he had a kid and Marge was threatened by JJ Gruff to be replaced by Barbara "Booberella" Lelavinski unless she brought in a decent nightlife story rather than parenting stories. Trying to make an article, Marge interviews artist John Baldessari. Homer then ran in with Bart and told her that Bart refused to sleep. Bart then caused trouble, destroying an art exhibit. When Marge presented this news article to JJ Gruff the photos of it, she lost her job because the journal lost their art advertisers due to Bart's destruction of the Art Gallery.
Bart caused even more trouble still. Whilst Marge worked, she would leave Bart at Springfield Gymdandee. However, Bart caused trouble there, causing him to be banned from there. After this, Homer and Marge visited the church to get help from Reverend Lovejoy. Lovejoy showed them a short film, Problem Child, which explained that having another kid would help stop Bart from being so bad. After this, they had Lisa.
During this story, Miles' wife left forever, because she didn't want to be around people like them and didn't want kids as a result of their story. The Simpsons shout out the window to her, and pretend to her that they are a happy family and she comes back to Miles. After this, Miles tells the Simpsons to get out before they tell any more of their story.
At the end the family returns to Springfield, while Lisa starts asking more stories of their past. They stop at the The Doughy Dozen Bagels to eat some bagels, Homer and Marge alone, but are disturbed by the kids moving around in the car, while Grampa watches them.
